Outdoor Activity Area – Veteran’s Way Park – CF is working with City of Hudson Park board and Leadership Hudson to create a destination for community members, youth and adults, looking for outdoor recreational activity close to downtown.
Taste of Hudson- CF supports this exciting community event by providing volunteers and by having a presence in the children’s area of the festival. CF had received a grant from TOH for the past three years.
Asset Builder of the Month – Businesses show commitment to the families of Hudson through a unique partnership with Hudson Community First to promote community-wide developmental assets. Throughout 2010 Community First will partner with a Hudson business or organization which will have program exclusivity throughout a chosen month to promote that business’s support of Community First’s Youth Asset Building mission.
Youth Champion Network Luncheon -October 27, 2011 at The Country Club of Hudson. Luncheon is held during TSMD month to recognize community members advocating for youth. Ten outstanding Hudson residents will be recognized for their efforts to help Hudson’s youth grow up healthy and happy.
Take a Second Make a Difference Month – During the month of October community members and youth are reminded that a simple act of kindness can make a big difference in a child’s life. Community members are nominated and recognized for Taking a Second and Making a Difference. Toast to Hudson Fundraiser - Leap Day, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 – Community First and Hudson Community Foundation join together in an evening to make a Toast to our great community and the people who give their time and efforts to continue to make Hudson a great place to live and raise a family. This year's event will take place at Blue Canyon Restaurant in Twinsburg starting at 6:30. Proceeds from the event benefit CF and HCF. Please call Laura Gasbarro at 330-807-1517 for more information.
Holiday Gift Shoppe/Craft Fair – December 3, 2011 – CF with the help of many youth board volunteers provides the Holiday Gift Shoppe for young children. The kids…with the help of an older elf…can purchase small gifts for their family. The craft fair provides our community with the chance to purchase unique gifts for the holidays.
Character Building Month/Community Speaker – February – Community First brings a well-known speaker (last year Jim Tressel) to the community to speak about the importance in developing character in our youth.
Annual Fund – In April the Community First Advisory Board contacts community members to get their support in helping Community First develop Assets in Hudson’s youth.
Market Day – monthly fundraiser - Market Day offers high quality frozen foods for community members to purchase. A majority of the proceeds go to Community First to support programs in the schools and community that promote positive youth development.
