What Is Community First?

Community First is a local non-profit organization that promotes positive youth development and is based on developing assets in youth.

The more assets young people possess, the more likely they will do well in school and in their community….and the less likely they are to be involved in negative and unhealthy choices.

Community First follows a philosophy and research that has been adopted by hundreds of communities throughout the United States.   It is a local initiative that utilizes the ground-breaking youth development research done by the Search Institute, and duplicated by many others since 1991.

As individuals and a community, it is our hope that Community First encourages all Hudsonites to reclaim responsibility for young people and provide the guidance, support and attention young people need to be successful.

Community First is a collaborative organization dedicated to building community partnerships to help youth in Hudson make positive life choices.
